Describe the fines and recovery duty
Identify sand or aggregate feed, mineral fines, clay changes, wash-water source and the intended recovered-water use. A polymer accepted for one feed may not transfer to a different quarry face or blend.
The mineral-water treatment route should connect settling, overflow and underflow needs. Do not select an anionic or nonionic product solely because that charge is familiar in another mineral plant.
Keep solids concentration visible
Record representative solids loading, flow, particle distribution where available, pH, conductivity and temperature. Note how the sample was mixed and how quickly it settled before the comparison.
A jar containing a different solids concentration is not an equivalent grade test. Preserve normal and difficult feed conditions instead of averaging away the material that controls demand.
State the dosage denominator
Keep milligrams of product or active polymer per litre of slurry separate from grams per dry tonne of solids. Conversion requires a reliable dry-solids basis as well as flow and density information appropriate to the measurement.
Use the dosage calculation guide and retain raw values with the result. A low number reported on another denominator should not win the quotation comparison.
Reproduce practical make-down and contact
Use feasible powder wetting or emulsion inversion, available water and preparation residence. Record stock concentration, age and transfer. Match polymer distribution and gentle contact to the installed thickener or clarifier.
A product that performs after unusually long or gentle laboratory handling may not be usable at peak throughput. Include these limits before choosing a bulk form or a nominal molecular-weight specification.
Measure water and solids output
Compare interface settling, overflow clarity, underflow density or handling and relevant filter behaviour. A rapidly descending interface can coexist with poor recovered-water quality or difficult thickened solids.
Repeat decisive dose points and challenge a difficult feed. Retain the incumbent and clear measurement times rather than approve one dramatic cylinder or a single clear supernatant sample.
Estimate the trial quantity responsibly
Use the planned water and dry-solids throughput, bounded test range and observation schedule. Separate a forecast from an operating-dose recommendation. Include pack, unloading, storage and feed capability before ordering.
Compare delivered cost at accepted consumption and relevant water-recovery or solids-handling outcomes that were measured. Do not guarantee recovery percentages or permanent savings from a bench observation alone.
Release for the accepted mineral envelope
Connect product code, active definition, preparation, feed conditions and results to the quotation and lot receiving plan. Define triggers for rechecking mineralogy, clay loading, water chemistry or equipment changes.
Send analyses, throughput, separator and trial scope through the sand-water flocculant request. A bounded plant proposal is more reliable than a generic mining-polymer label or a universal grams-per-tonne promise.
Retain the solids-basis calculation
Keep measured slurry flow, dry-solids information, product concentration and each dose conversion with the test record. Label whether a comparison reports product or active polymer and whether its denominator is water, slurry or dry solids.
Use the same worksheet when the plant feed changes. A dose stated in grams per dry tonne may remain numerically unchanged while product consumption per water volume changes substantially. Purchasing should see that operating context before comparing monthly supply forecasts or attributing a higher invoice to weak polymer activity.
